2010 Coming to a Close

As 2010 comes to a close, I have a lot to look back on over the past year. I have had a great year over all, but it has also had a lot of heart ache in it. Losing my grandmother Klue in July broke my heart, she was what I called my spring chicken and nothing was ever going to happen to her. We talked regularly on the phone and I always found myself calling her to ask her silly questions. My heart was broken again in September with the lose of my grandmother B, she had been sick for so long that when she died I was actually at peace about her passing. Don't get me wrong I miss her like crazy and would love to sit and talk to her just one more time, but I know that she is so happy now in heaven.

On a more positive note..... It have been a great year because I have watched my boys grow into perfect toddlers and become such beautiful little boys. Jason and I have been tested this year with the new challenges that children bring into a relationship, but we have passed the test and now we are ready for 2011.

I hope that everyone has had a great year and I look forward to a GREAT 2011!

CHRISTMAS PICTURES

•SANTA PICTURES•
Mall at Barnes Crossing
Ben wasn't so sure about Santa, I had to hug Santa and shake his hand to show Ben that he was okay, but he was still was very hesitant in going to him. Colton didn't really care. I told the picture lady that if she was going to take a picture she better do it now because this wasn't going to last long. Ben studied Santa very close and then busted out crying. Colton was fine until Ben started crying, but once he started Colton decided that he needed to too.

Halloween, Thanksgiving & Everything In Between.

I have gotten behind in my blogging, so I am going to give you a recap over the last month...

• ONE YEAR OLD PICTURES •
We had our one year old pictures made by Mr. Othel at Anding Photography in Etta, MS. The boys did really great, but believe it or not Colton was more photogenic this time than Ben. Ben wasn't to sure about the whole process. He is the type person that has to warm up to you, as for Colton he likes everyone.

•PUMPKIN PATCH•
We took the boys to the Pumpkin Patch for the first time and I believe it ended up being the hottest day of the year. We were all sweating like crazy. The boys loved looking at all of the animals and petting a few of them. All-in-all we had a great time and came home with 4 pumpkins.

• HALLOWEEN•
For Halloween the boys were dressed as Dinosaurs. When we first put the costumes on them, they weren't real sure about them, and their balance was off from that big oh belly on the costume. Ben got dressed first and literally just rolled around in the floor and Colton wanted to chase after him because he looked so funny. Once Colton finally got dressed both boys sat in the floor and laughed at each other. Not only did they laugh they started wrestling. How funny!

Our Halloween festivities started out on Friday with the boys Halloween party at daycare. They couldn't wear there costumes to daycare so the boys wore there one piece skeleton.
They were so cute! We trick-or-treated around our neighborhood on Saturday night and even strolled up to Mamaw & Papaw's house and Papaw Norris' house to get candy. Papaw Norris had to have his picture giving the boys candy.
On Sunday we had our Fall Festival at Church and we took the boys in there little red wagon and they played with there buddy Lexi.

• THANKSGIVING•
We had a great Thanksgiving this year! I was really worried about it since it was also going to be a very sad day without both of my grandmothers. My mom and I did all of the cooking this year, I made chicken-n-dressing and homemade caramel cake for the first time, I was so scared that they were going to be a flop, but they actual turned out quite nice. Would you believe we didn't take a single picture at Thanksgiving.... OH MY! I was to busy cooking, cleaning and chasing two little boys who put on a show for everyone. Plus, I think if we had, it would have reminded us more that Mamaw B & Mamaw Klue weren't there.

•WHAT I'M THANKFUL FOR•
I am so thankful for the wonderful husband (Jason) that I have, he loves me know matter what and always supports me. We tried for so long to have a baby and the good Lord above blessed us with two beautiful and perfect children to share our lives with. My parents who have given me the support and know how to raise my family in a Christian environment and to know that without God we are nothing. My in-laws are pretty cool too.... Thanks for all that you do! I also have the best friend in the whole world, Kari, without her I'd be lost, 25 years together is a lifetime. Last but not least... I can't forget the boys Uncle Nathan, Aunt Mendy and Uncle Lee, what would we do without you. I have been so blessed and have so much to be thankful for!

I promise to do better in the month of December! - Emily

Happy 1st Birthday Ben & Colton

It's hard to believe that one year ago today by beautiful boys were introduced into the world. They were so small, frail & innocent and now they have turned into the beginning stages of a toddler. Their personalities have shine through over the last year, but in the last month alone I have enjoyed watching them interact with eat other. They will sit in the floor and look at each other taking turns shaking their heads "NO" back and forth to each other, laughing the whole time.

Here are some of our fall pictures/1 year old pictures that we had taken by Nathan. They turned out great!

ABOUT THE BOYS:
Ben is a very happy baby, but if he doesn't know you he isn't going to smile at you, he gives you the, "what do you want" stare down. (He must get that from his daddy.) He is pulling up on everything and can even stand by himself for just a few seconds, but he's not walking alone yet. He can also say a few things, we think he is saying... dada, dog & duck.

Colton is also a very happy baby, but he is very friendly to everyone and never meets a stranger. (He got that from his mommy). He is pulling up on everything and is starting to get brave when it comes to standing by himself with no help. He isn't walking yet either. As for talking..... He isn't actually saying anything yet, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have alot to say, he babbles all of the time.

For their 1st birthday we had a Disney Chuggington / Train Birthday Party. I had to improvise since they haven't come out with any Chuggington Birthday invitations or party supplies. I made their invitations myself, I think they came out pretty cute.

We served BBQ sandwiches (BBQ by Jim) and chips for lunch, it is one of the boys favorite foods.
BEN

Colton fell asleep while he was eating lunch, everyone sat and watched him laughing as his bottle would keep falling out of him mouth and he would keep putting in back in his mouth.

"THE" Birthday cake came from Creative Cakes in Tupelo and it tasted oh so good! The boys also had their own smash cakes to eat.

Ben loved his smash cake, maybe even a little to much.

Before we realized it Ben had eaten half of his 6" round cake. I thought I was going to have to get the water hose after him to clean him up.

Colton wasn't as sure about his cake as Ben was.

It didn't take him long to change his mind... Colton liked his cake alot.

GIFT TIME:
The boys had a great time opening gifts, they actually got all into it. I sat Colton down in the floor and he started pulling tissue paper out of bags and looking n bags.

Ben loved it to, he didn't know what to play with first.

All-in-All the party was a success, I can't believe that it has come and gone. Until next year, Happy Birthday Ben and Colton!

Southern Miss Football

Here are a few pictures from our trip to the boys first Football game at Southern Miss.

Colton was mad because I sat him down.

Ben wants to be all in my face when I take pictures.

They loved the air conditioner in the hotel.
