Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas Day. Our Christmas started last night at my Grandparent Medlin's House or as we call them Mamaw Klue and Papaw Dank. We had a great time and enjoyed getting to see the family, the only thing missing was my Uncle Greg and Uncle Ronny. It's just not Christmas without the whole family there. :( Christmas has been alot more special this year since the boys are here. I guess it seems more magical. I know that, that sounds corney but hey what else can I say?

Santa came to our house last night and brought us lots of goodies. Last year Jason and I decided to start having our own little Christmas on Christmas morning before going to my other grandparents house, that way we have time to celebrate Christmas with just our family.
The boys were alot of fun, not that they were able to do anything, but it made Christmas more exciting! The are growing so fast, Colton is starting to smile all the time and Ben can roll over from his stomach to his back. They can both ALMOST roll over, they just can't figure out how to get that leg over, but soon enough it will happen. :)

2009 Christmas Card

This is our family Christmas Card/Birth Annoucement for 2009. I decided to combine the two since the boys were born so close to Christmas. This is an Emily Roberts special, I designed it myself. If I knew I could make a living at it I would love to do this for a career. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!

7 weeks old

Time is flying by and I don't know how to make it stop. It seems like just yesterday that I was completely & miserably pregnant and was begging to have the babies. Now I wake up and they are already 7 weeks old. They are growing so fast and literally changing daily.
COLTON & BEN
People keep telling us that they can't tell them apart and of course I get the... are they identical or fraternal question. Personally, I don't think they look anything a like, don't get me wrong you can tell that they are brother, but that's about it. There personalities are very different to.
BEN
Ben is very easy going, but is more whinny of the two. He thinks he needs to be held all of the time. That is thanks to me mother, she spoils him "ROTTEN." He loves for people to talk to him, he will look at you like he completely understands what you are saying. He also loves to be read to. My mom reads to him book after book and he will just stare at her while she is reading. Ben is still smaller than Colton. I think Ben is just going to be a smaller framed person. He is still wearing newborn size clothes & diapers compared to Colton who is wearing 0-3 months and size 1 diapers. I really think that Ben is getting ready to have a growing spurt because he has started having feeding times where he can eat up to 7 oz like his brother did a couple of weeks ago. Colton has now gone back to normal and eats 4 oz regularly.
COLTON
In the beginning everyone thought that Colton looked just like Jason, but as he gets older he is starting to look just like my baby pictures, fat cheeks and all. Ben is starting to look more like Jason. They are the most beautiful little boys I've ever seen. I think they get more beautiful by the second. Watch out little girls, I've got to heart breakers on my hands. :)Colton is very mellow except when he's hungry, then he just down right has a temper. I know that he gets that from me. He is very dramatic when he's mad he kicks his feet like he's stomping and he has even started to cry real tears. He get so worked up.

I had to go to the doctor the other day to have my infusion for my crohn's, which is a three hour event, the babies were so good the entire time I was there that some of the nurses didn't even know that I had babies in there. The boys are great in public and when other people are around, but they let there mommy and daddy see their true colors when they are alone. :)
BEN & COLTON
These are the outfits I bought on e-bay for around $10 together. I'm so proud of my self for that. Problem is they want get to wear them long. Colton's is already getting tight. :0
"THE FORMULA"
My friend Ginny called me one morning and told me that Wal-mart had my formula on sale for a unbelievable price so she came and watched the boys while I stocked up. Originally this formula is $11.97 a can and they had it on sale for $4.50 a can. It doesn't expire until 01/2011. They had ordered way to much so they were just trying to get rid of it. I bought 72 cans and my mom went back and bought 60 more. Need less to say, I have formula bought for the next 10 months. Right now I am going through about a can a day. This was just to good of a deal to pass up. I saved $986.00 on formula. Holy Moly... is that a savings or what?

"GOOD THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES"
Ben & Colton
The boys have started lifting their heads and trying to roll over. At least attempting to. Colton is better at the head control thing, but Ben is better at trying to roll over. You have to watch out for Colton because he will head butt you.
Colton
Ben (think he will be rolling over first.)
Ben
It's Superman and his side kick..... I think Colton thinks he can fly. LOL!!!

I promise I will start writing more in my blogs, I've just been a little tied up lately. At least I'm showing you pictures.

ROLL TIDE ROLL

My husband is a huge Alabama, Crimson Tide Fan, so he is in absolute heaven since they are #2 in the Nation and is currently playing for the SEC Championship against Florida. In the words of my dear husband "ROLL TIDE ROLL!"

Here are some pictures of the BAMA support in our household...

Jason drove all the way to Tuscaloosa, AL to get the boys some Alabama attire.

Happy Turkey Day

I have so many things in my life to be thankful for. This year has been great and we have had so many wonderful blessings. I thank the good Lord above for my wonderful husband, two beautiful and healthy boys, great family and wonder friends. The list could go on and on, but I will stop there. :)

For Thanksgiving this year we went to my Grandparent Medlin's house. We usually have it at our house every year, but since we weren't sure when the babies would arrive we had it there. My Uncle Greg and his children came down from Michigan this year.. It was really nice to have them home for the holidays. Below is a picture of all of my grandparent Medlin's grandchildren and great grand children. I wish Dixie was still alive and then we would all be complete.

Matthew, Cassidy, Emily & Colton, Ron & Ben

Ben wanted some Thanksgiving Turkey so bad he tried to eat his brother's head. Colton wasn't real sure what was going on. This picture is hilarious to me!!!!

BABY UPDATE:
The boys had a great check up on Wednesday. Colton has gain up to 8 lbs 6 oz, 20 " long & Ben weighs 6 lbs 12 oz, 19" long. They are growing like crazy! We think Ben has reflux because he keeps spitting up and when I mean spitting up, I mean projectile spitting up. He also will start crying while he is eating then start right back eating. The doctor put him on some zantec for a month. We go back to the doctor on December 31st for shots.

I think Ben will be rolling over soon, he is already trying he just can't figure out how to get over that arm thing that is in his way. Colton tries to, but he's not quite as good at it.

One Month Old

It's hard to believe the babies are one month old. Especially, since they aren't even 40 weeks until Thanksgiving Day. They are growing so fast and changing daily. We go back to the doctor tomorrow for a weight check. I can't even imagine how much weight they have gained. My prediction is that Ben weighs a little over 7 lbs and Colton somewhere around 8 1/2 lbs.

Ben is watching tv in this picture and Colton just isn't having it. Colton is still larger than Ben, but if you saw Colton eat you would understand why. He is our little chunk!

BEN (below)

Ben loves being held..... he's my "snuggle bunny" and maybe even what you would call a mamma's boy. Believe it or not, but he already holds his passy and tries to hold his bottle. I can stick my tongue out at him and he will copy me. It is so cute!!!!

Is this not the cutest face you have ever seen? He is so animated and alert. Ben & Colton still act very different Ben is still calm and easy going and Colton is very dramatic, but still easy going.

COLTON (below)

See what I mean about Colton being our little chunk, he's even got a double chin going these days. LOL!!! That's good though, that just means they're gaining weight. He is eating 3 oz pretty regular and sometimes 4 oz. Colton has started getting baby acne in the last few days, which is pretty common in babies. I just hope it doesn't get much worse.

Pucker up ladies... this cute little boy loves giving kisses. Colton is our Mr. Independent, he likes doing his own thing. Except when it come to sleeping, he has to sleep next to his brother. They like to cuddle and hold hands and sometimes even have little arguments already. :)

I will let you know what they're weight is tomorrow after I go to the doctor.

Fussy Baby

If you don't wont to hear about baby constipation and yucky colds this blog is not for you....

Over the last week we have all had a yucky cold, it hasn't been to bad, just annoying. We are finally all getting over it. Thank goodness for the bugger puller and nasal saline. Now my sweet, sweet Ben is constipated. We started giving him dark Karo on Friday, but it's not working. Actually it is, but on the wrong baby. I swear, I feed it to Ben and Colton is the one pooping like crazy.

I called the doctor's office today to find out what else you can do for a constipated 1 month old baby other than Karo. The nurse gave me several options to try.

OPTION 1:
Use a rectal thermometer and take his temp, this causes the baby to push and some times make the baby start pooping naturally on there on.
OPTION 2: Give the baby 2 oz. prune juice either alone or mixed in his formula once a day.
OPTION 3: Try a half of a baby suppository.

These are our next strategies to tackle. I really hope it works, because I feel so sorry for him when he sleeps and grunts the whole time.

As for me.... I had my 1 month check up with Dr. Williams today and he says that I am all clear, my incision looks good and I officially have no restrictions. Yeah!!!!! One of the nurses asked me about birth control and I just laughed... I mean, it took us 4 years to get pregnant and when we did get pregnant we had to have the help of some SERIOUS fertility drugs. I just look at it like this, if the good Lord above wants us to have more children we will. I'm not saying I do or don't want more children at this point, but I'm not ready to close that door just yet. If you ask Jason he will tell you that two is his limit. LOL!!!!

I'm having the boys one month picture made tomorrow by Nathan so I will post some pictures very soon.

3 weeks update

I can't believe it's been three weeks since my two bundles of joy came into this great big world. We have had our first week at home without someone else's help. It hasn't been that bad, the boys are still eating every 3 or so hours and then they sleep. I really can't complain that much the boys don't really cry unless they are hungry. Jason says that they get that from me, because If I'm hungry and you don't' feed me I get ill as a hornet. LOL!!! We are getting enough sleep but we still wish we had more.

Both boys have been congested this week. I have been using the snot puller-outer (I don't know what it is really called) and the baby saline drops. Thank the Lord for them..... I have been paranoid that we are getting the swine flu. ( I'm a crazy momma now!) Not, that I really have any reason to think that we actually have it I just worry!

I go back to the doctor next week for my one month check up at Dr. Williams office and then the babies go back for a weight follow-up on November 25th. I can only imagine how much weight the boys have gained. Colton can't get enough food and Ben is catching up slowly but surely. We are going through about 4 cans of formula a week and that's only them getting 2 oz each.
