Here are some pictures of Jason and I as a baby, you tell me who you think they look like?

First Food
We decided it was time to try cereal with the boys. Yes, I know they are only 3 months old, but the work sheet I got from the health department says that they meet the criteria. They have to be able to sit up by themselves with assistance, eat 32 oz of formula a day and at least weigh 12 lbs.

Colton's first attempt was worse than Ben's. I actually think he was "toooooo" hungry to eat cereal at this point and just wanted his bottle right then and there. Did I mention his dramatic temper? He took about 3 bites of just cereal and that was that.
COLTON
The first attempt was rough, I started with Ben by putting him in the high chair like a big boy. That went okay, next I put the spoon in his mouth with Rice cereal. He began eating it and then got confused why it wasn't like his bottle and coming out faster, he cried from that point on. I then put the rest of the cereal in his bottle and feed it to him that way and he ate all of it.

Last night went a little better for Ben. I think it finally clicked for him that it was yummy food to eat and he really liked it. He didn't fight me at all and ate every last bit of it. As for Colton we had a little bit of drama. We sat him in the high chair and we gave him one bite and he starts SCREAMING to the top of his lungs. Just so you have the full effect he even had his hands shaking he was so mad. So, I picked him up and sat him in my lap and my mom would put about two bites of cereal in him mouth and then I would shove the passy in right afterwards. This actually worked and towards the end of the whole process he realized that this was good stuff. Not only are they eating cereal now they are still taking 4 oz of formula about 15 minutes afterwards. I think the trick to it is to feed it to them before they are screaming hungry.
Tonight went great, both Ben and Colton ate it without a tear. The only problem we have now it that I can't get it from the bowl to their mouths fast enough. I have two growing boys on my hands. :)

Happy 3 Month Birthday!!!

Can you believe that the boys are three months old? It seems like just last week they were born and we were bringing them home from the hospital. They have changed so much and look nothing like they did when they were born.
BEN

Their attitudes are coming into full force. Ben is still as laid back as ever, he will go to anyone and loves to smile.
COLTON

As for Colton, he has a serious attitude and he LOVES his mommy. Can you say momma's boy?
We have had a lot going this past week, my mother-in-law came in for the week and kept the boys while I went back to work. I think they had a great time together and she really enjoyed keeping them.

As for me, I was okay Monday thru Wednesday, but by Thursday I hated working and I wanted to come back home and stay with the boys. (Don't worry Jason told me to get over that!) :( I really enjoyed spending time with her and I hope she comes back again real soon.... hint, hint!
I had planned on the boys staying with Uncle Nathan & Aunt Ginny Friday because Jason's mom had to leave to go back home on Friday morning, but Ginny's son came home from school running fever, so that was out! I have now had my first experience of searching for someone to keep the boys at the last minute. Luckily, my friend Crystal kept the boys that morning and mom took off that afternoon to keep the boys. THANKS GUYS!!!!
Oh, I forgot to mention this was also the weekend that Jason took his yearly camping trip with the guys. He left Thursday evening after work to head to South Mississippi and got home Sunday around 3 pm. The boys stayed with mom and dad Friday night so I could get "ONE" good night of sleep for the week.

I came back in the morning and Mom and I went to Tupelo shopping with the boys Saturday afternoon. Colton had a complete melt down while we were gone so I bought him the Leap Frog Scout Dog to try to calm him down, it actually worked quite well.
SCOUT the Dog

So worth the money! Only $20.00. I thought the boys could share it, but I had to go back and get another one for Ben. This thing is so cool you can program their names into it and everything. Wish they had, had stuff like this when I was a kid.
The boys are officially wearing 3-6 months clothes. I had to break down and go get them some new jammies, I didn't have any 3-6 months sizes for them to sleep in.... Poor babies, but now they have plenty, because I found a bunch for $3.00. With twins you have to be cautious with money. I have been so busy that it has taken me a week to post this thing.... Sorry!
Oh and grandpa Roberts' hurry up and come back to see us...... I need a picture of you and the boys! :)

First Day Back
Today was my first day back to work, it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't cry at all this morning when I had to leave them at home, don't get me wrong, I had a hard time leaving. I kept going back to love on them "just one more time". It helped that they didn't have to go to daycare today, since my mother-in-law is here for the week. Next week may be a different story.
My work day went by very fast up until after lunch, from that point on it crept by. I guess I really started thinking about the boys and wondered what they were doing and wanting to love on them a little. I miss seeing their smiling faces. :(
On a positive note..... I did enjoy a quite lunch today with adult conversation (Thanks Tosha!). It's amazing how you miss such small things. I'm usually feeding babies or changing diapers in the middle of trying to eat. My office was so quite today, I am not use to the lack of noise. It made me a little sleepy. "ONLY" 4 more day until the weekend!
The ride home from work was horrible, I didn't think I would ever get home. After I finally got home I got the most horrific headache. I finally feel asleep in the recliner holding both babies. That was priceless, I don't get to do that very often. If you ask me right now I would tell you I'm not going back to work tomorrow, but I know it's because I missed them so much. :)

Hit or Miss
Colton is feeling alot better, he is back to eat his 4 oz and sleeping less. As for Ben I can't decide if it is a hit or miss. On Tuesday he started sneezing and coughing but nothing like Colton did. He is still eating the same as before and he really doesn't act sick at all. BEN
(he doesn't look sick at all, does he?)

So who knows.... I think we are going to stay home from church one more Sunday just to make sure it's all gone, I would hate to give it to someone else. So it will actually be two more Sundays before we go to OUR church. Jason is going on his "MAN" camping trip he goes on every year next weekend, so I will probably go to church with my mom & dad that Sunday. Plus, mom is wanting to show her grandchildren off anyways. :) Let's just hope we stay well!
Jason & I are feeling better to. That was a rough cold, I want lie, it kicked my butt. It's very difficult to take care of a sick baby when you feel like crap yourself. All I wanted to do was crawl on the sofa and sleep. Needless to say that didn't happen.
Monday is the big day for me.... I go back to work after being off for 12 weeks. I'm actually excited about going back, but I'm kind of sad to. This morning I sat in the recliner with Ben and rocked him thinking, I was going to miss this. Honestly, with there being two of them I don't get to do that very often. (Colton was still asleep)
PLAYTIME

The boys love to play on their play-mat. Colton loves to look at himself in the mirror and Ben likes to hit the rattle elephant above his head. They also like to watch TV, especially football.

Day 7 with RSV

We have made it through the week with RSV and have LUCKILY not had to be hospitalized. Colton is still having breathing treatments every four hours. He must be getting better because he has started eating like normal again and is staying more alert and not sleeping all the time. I can still hear the congestion in his chest and when he sneezes he occasionally snots everywhere. He never did run fever though. Thank Goodness!
As for Ben.... so far so good. He seems to be feeling fine and hasn't shown any signs of RSV. I'm just hoping it doesn't show up after Colton gets completely over this.
I was sick the entire time Colton has been sick with RSV and it has sucked. I seriously don't think I've been this sick in like 2 years. I finally got a decadron shot and it help "ALOT". Now Jason has got the same crud and is still in Bed at I type. Poor thing... I know it sucks!

This coming week will be my last week on maternity leave. It's going to be really hard to leave the boys, but I think I'm ready to go back, at least for now that is. I'll let you know how I feel about that at a later date.
My mother-in-law is coming to stay with us the week that I go back to work, I'm really excited about her coming to visit and meet the boys for the first time. It is really great timing for me because that means I can call twenty times a day to check on the boys and she want mind. The next week after that is what will be hard when they have to go to day care.

Day 2 with RSV
We are taking it one day at a time trying to get over RSV. Colton had a ruff night last night, we slept in the recliner from about 3:00 on. We started breathing treatments every 4 hours and it seems to be helping. He has started sneezing and snot is coming out. Colton is a real trooper about the breathing treatments he lets me put the mask around his head and everything, he usually falls asleep during the treatment.
So far Ben still isn't sick, lets just pray that he doesn't get it.

Sick Baby
I knew it would happen sooner or later, but sooner has arrived. Colton started getting sick Sunday evening and when I say sick I mean sick. He is majorly congested and sounds horrible. I called the nurse yesterday to get her opinion on what I should do. She told me to watch his stomach to see if he was breathing heavy or sinking in when he breathed and also if he was wheezing or breathing hard. I decided to not take him to the doctor and see how he made it through the night. We made it through the night, but I decided to take him on the the doctor this morning after consoling him most of the night. The main reason I decide to take him is because when I was bathing him I noticed that his chest looked like a fish out of water and he sounded horrible.

When we got to the doctor they swabbed his nose for the Flu and RSV. I personally suspect RSV since it is going around like wild fire. They also gave us a breathing treatment trying to make it easier for him to breathe. Dr Scott came back in and told us he was so sorry, but we tested positive for RSV, but negative for the Flu. I think he was trying to tell me that I am going to have a lot of sleepless nights in the next few nights to come. :(
So far Ben doesn't have it but Dr. Scott said that it is almost a given then Ben will have it to. GREAT!!!! Did I mention I am sick to.... Only problem with that it momma doesn't have time to be sick.
Here is a picture of Colton at the doctor office waiting on the doctor. Bless his heart!
He did really good at the doctor, he slept most of the time, but occasionally he would cry and cry. What do you expect, he doesn't understand why he feels so bad.
Let's just hope Ben doesn't get it, he's pretty happy so far.
I will keep you posted on there status.

First Time to Church
We made it thru our first trip to church, it didn't go as smooth as I would have liked, but we made it. We had planned on going to Sunday school to, but that didn't happen. We made it to church and Brother Clyde welcomed us in front of the church and told us not to worry if they cried during the service, because he would just preach louder.
Colton made it about 30 minutes and that was it for him, Jason got up and took him to the back, but you could still hear him screaming in the sanctuary. All I could do was put my head down and smile. Ben did wonderful until the last 5 minutes, he just couldn't hold out anymore so we went to the back also.
I didn't feel so bad since all the other babies had gotten loud also so everyone was in the back. Hopefully everything will go smoother next time.
I didn't get to take a picture, because both the boys were so fuss and plus it was "COLD"! I promise to take one next trip.

Year in Review/Shots
A lot has happen to my family in 2009. Let's take a second and look back over a great 2009... First off, after trying to have a baby for 4 years with know luck, Jason and I finally got pregnant the first of March, the 4th to be exact. Then then learned that we were pregnant with twins. This was a great reward, since we were at the end of our road on having children of our own. God is good! That is the main reason I started this blog, I needed a therapeutic why to get through the let down and confusion of why not me. I also want other people out there to know that they are not alone with infertility. Now I can write about my joys as a parent and show off my Beautiful Boys!

The boys had there shots on December 31st. They did quite well, Ben didn't cry on the first shot, but the second two he cried and then that was it. As for Colton, he was asleep when the nurse gave him his shots and he woke up screaming. I have to give the boy credit, I would wake up screaming to if someone gave me a shot in my sleep. :( Neither one of the boys cried long! Oh and I did great to.... I didn't even shed a tear. Ben weighed almost 10 lbs and Colton weighed almost 12 lbs. I can't believe they have already gained 6 lbs in 2 months. We went from Preemie diapers to size 2 in a matter of minutes. They only wore size 1 diapers for like a week.
They boys are changing so fast and care doing new things daily. Ben can roll over from him stomach to his back regularly, he has quite got the hang of back to front, but it want be much longer as for Colton he is still trying and can almost get there. Colton's new thing is he "Coos". I sat and listened to him last night and just laughed. I wonder what he is saying? He has also found his hand as you can see in the picture. At first I thought that this meant he was hungry.... nope he just likes his hand in his mouth. :) Silly little boy!

Starting this last week Colton has started getting fussy..... REALLY fussy! I think it's gas but I'm not sure. I've been giving him Mylacon drops, but it really doesn't seem to be helping. When he is eating he will just stop and cry/scream, but yet he is so hungry but it hurts him to eat. Sound Like Gas? or Does It Sound Like Collic? I'm hoping it's gas! :( We talked to our Ped. and he told us to give him 1 cc of Mylanta - Regular Strength and to be careful with the Mylcon drops because to much can constipate them. We gave it to him last night and believe it or not.... IT WORKED!!!!! So far so good, lets just hope we continue with success.
