Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!!

Ben & Colton

Introducing....Ben & Colton

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted anything on the boys birth yet. My life has been a little crazy lately. Here is a short version of the last two weeks....

Week One: (35 weeks pregnant)

Started having contractions again even after the magnesium drip the week before and pills that I took at home to keep them stopped. I went to the doctors office on Thursday with back pain again, so they hooked me up to the stress monitor to check my contractions and the babies status and sure enough it was contractions. Dr Williams did an amino (sp?) on Colton's lungs to see if his lungs were ready to be born. He had to score above 54 for him to have mature lungs....he scored 74. the Doctor wanted to take them that night, but Jason was in Memphis and was on his way home. So we waited until the next day.

I was scheduled to be at the hospital at 11:00 am for a scheduled c-section, but they didn't get to me until 2:00 pm. I was so freaking hungry and thirsty by then, all a wanted was a cup of ice or a coke. Needless to say I a little on the ill side from lack of food.

The boys were born on Friday, October 23, 2009.
Benjamin Edward Roberts came first arriving at 2:42 pm weighing 4 lbs 9 oz, 17 1/2"
The poor baby was squished from being on bottom for 9 months. I think he likes it a lot better on the outside.

Colton Allen Roberts entered the world at 2:43 pm weighing 5 lbs 12 oz, 18"
There personality's so far fit them to a tee. Ben is very laid back, nothing really bothers him and he's VERY alert. Colton is laid back to, but he's a little more antsy.

Week Two: (Since Birth)
We all stayed in the hospital for 4 days, Colton got to come home with me, but Ben had to stay longer. That was a very hard day when I had to leave my Ben behind. I cried the night before and all day about the situation. That didn't make for a very happy mommy. I think it really bothered Jason to, but you know he would never show it.
This picture was taken the day we left the hospital with Colton. I packed two different outfits for them to come home in because I didn't know how big they would be. Needless to say the cute gowns I bought were huge and the preemie out fit was to small. My boys may be small, but their legs are not short my any means. I could even button Colton's crotch. :)

Ben is still at the hospital and we go visit him everyday. He is in perfect health, just a little small. He hasn't had to have the first bit of oxygen or even an IV. The doctor says that all babies lose weight in the first seven days, but Ben didn't have room to lose weight so that's why he is still in the hospital. We are hoping he can come home on Monday, but there is no guarantee on that. We just have to wait and see. It's in the good Lord aboves hands! Below are pictures of Ben that I have taken this week.

Here are also some pictures of Colton taken this week. He is also very alert and he LOVES his hands. No wonder I never got to see pictures of there faces. Colton is a great baby so far, he only cries when he is hungry or you are changing his diaper. Poopy diapers don't bother him a bit.

The dogs, Cooper and Sam are very concerned about there new little brother. The first night we were home with Colton, Cooper never left the babies side and Sam has become very sociable all of a sudden. I wonder what are going to think when we bring another baby home in a few days?

I take Colton for his first check-up to Dr Shane on November 3rd. I will keep you posted on Ben as I know more. Everyone please continue to pray for Jason & I and our two sweet little boys.

They finally showed there faces

I went to the doctor for my check up after my crazy weekend on Monday. Here are the 3D pictures of the babies below. The one time Jason doesn't go with me and I don't take a video the boys decided to show there face. Imagine that!

Here is a picture of Colton - He is still being camera shy.

Colton looks like he has his eye open in this picture.

My sweet baby boy Benjamin's first photo. :)

He opened his mouth for us.

Both babies are doing great, even after our wild weekend. They are both happy and their pressures are great. So I can't complain.....I'll just have to suck it up for a couple more weeks. I go back to the doctor next Monday for another stress test to monitor their heartbeats and to check to see if I 'm having contractions. Let's just hope the contractions stay away for a little while longer the boys aren't quite done cooking yet. On a positive note.... the doctor did go ahead and give me the two steroid shots to help the babies lungs just in case the boys can't be patient. So as of right now we are looking at either the last week in October or the first weeks in November. I guess we will jsut have to wait and see.

Long weekend...

Here is an update on my crazy weekend. On Friday morning around 4am I woke because I just couldn't get comfortable in the bed any longer. My back was killing me, I had tried going back and forth between the bed, recliner, sofa then back to bed. Jason left for work like usual and I got in the shower to try to make myself feel better. After I got out of the shower I decided to go to the chiropractor, because just maybe my hips were spreading or something from the babies.

I came home from the chiropractor and got ready to lay down for a little while, needless to say I made it to the sink and through up from the pain. I took a pain pill and laid down. I laid there for about 35 minutes and had to get up from the pain and the un-comfort. I through up again after laying down and at this point realized that I need to to call the doctor. He wasn't working on Friday so I had to go to the hospital for them to check me out. I just knew that I was over thinking this and I would be home by lunch, but boy was I wrong. I had started having contractions ever 10 minutes, then 5 minutes, which was not a good sign since I am only 34 weeks pregnant.

They started me on a magnesium drip.....which sucks!!!!! and I stayed at the hospital until Sunday around 10:30 and was discharged and sent home. I went home and could barely walk from all the swelling and all I could do is take epson salt bathes and keep my legs up. Thank the LORD for Jason, because I couldn't have done it with out him. He's the best man in the whole wide world. I have never seen my legs and bottom half of my body ever swollen this bad. It was BAD!!!!!! Here is a picture of my legs and feet on M0nday after I could stand up on my own. It was worse than this.

34 weeks, Bed Rest & Much More.

Every week has become a new milestone at this point. I am now 34 weeks pregnant and misery has set it. I have no feet or ankles left they are officially called "cankles," there's no more knee caps just legs. My dog Sam sat in my lap and left paw prints in-bedded in my leg. I have resorted to soaking my feet every night so I can bend my toes. As sleep goes, I don't know what that is anymore. Jason says I moan and groan all night long. SORRY Jason!!! This is just so you have a mental picture of how I look and feel right now. :)

I went to the doctor yesterday and he said that everything looks great and we are right on track. Both the boys weighed 5 lbs 2 oz, so the weight is great. Can you imagine how big they will be if I can hold on to them for 4 more weeks. WOW is all I can say! Ben (baby A) is measuring 37 weeks 1 day and his brother Colton (baby B) is measuring 37 weeks 5 days. As for heartbeats go Ben's was 143 bpm & Colton 141 bpm.

Ya'll know the drill.... I don't have any good pictures to show you because Ben wants his face to be a COMPLETE surprise and Colton had both of his hands over his face. I have just given up on seeing what they look like until they are born. On the other hand, they have no problem letting you know that they are boys. :)

The doctor finally put me on bed rest, at least this way it will take a little stress off of me and just maybe, I can get a little rest a relaxation before the boys get here, because you know I want get any rest once they arrive. It's not like I'm on complete bed rest to the point I can't get out of bed, I'm just suppose to take it easy, keep my feet up and relax. The doctor made the comment that he's just waiting on that phone call that my water has broken. :) I also went to the chiropractor yesterday and he told me that my water wouldn't break in the next 7 days because my hips are still tight and locked in-place. That's good to know!

I go back to the doctor next Wednesday for another stress test on the babies, but I want see the doctor again until the following Wednesday, at that time I will be 36 weeks. If I make it that long.... just maybe he will schedule my c-section after that appointment. Let's pray!!!

We have got that car seats in the van ready go, just in case and I have packed the babies bag and have started my bag. I'm still not real sure on what I need to care with me, so I'm up for all opinions on what I need to bring. Here is a picture of the car seats loaded up in the van. Hope know one else needs a ride with us..... :)

The count down is on, now it's just a matter of time before my wonderful two little boys will be here. I will keep you all posted on my status.

Can I make it another day?

I am 33 weeks today and I have to say, I don't know if I can make it another day. I am completely miserable. COMPLETELY!!!! I can't sleep anymore, I've tried the bed, recliner, sofa then back to the bed again. Nothing works, NOTHING! I am still working, but I don't know how much longer I can handle that. When I wake up in the morning all I want to do is sleep more. Probably, because I got about 2 hours of sleep the night before and the night before that.

I feel so bad now that I could seriously just sit down and cry. Everyone is getting on my nerves, which that may have something to do with lack of sleep. Jason says I'm just moody all the time. Dang, he would be to if he was carrying around two babies in his stomach, can't sleep and aches all the time, not to mention my feet are HUGE. They are bigger than they were in that picture I posted!

I went to the doctor yesterday for my weekly check up and he did a stress test on the babies. They passed with flying colors. He told me to eat a good breakfast before I came so the babies would be more active. He had know idea just how active the boys are. All I had to eat was a banana to make them squirm. It took all three nurses to finally get the boys heartbeats. They were moving so much that they couldn't keep their heartbeats for a long period of time. Colton was the problem child as usual, he was all over the place. I was having contractions, but I think that is completely normal. Some of them were quite strong. OUCH!!!

I go back next Wednesday for another ultrasound. So far everything is right on track. I'm just pooped and don't know if I can make it another day. (I know I can, I'm just tired!)

32 Weeks & Counting

I have finally made it to 32 to weeks...... can you believe it? Holy Moly!!!! I didn't think I would ever get to this point. I went to the doctor today for my check up and everything looks wonderful. I have two healthy and growing boys who both over 4 lbs. What else could a mother ask for. :)

They were both very active today for the doctor, I even got to try out some of his new and improved machinery he had just gotten in. Those of you who have been following my blog also know that my to sweet little boys don't like there picture made. As usual nothing changed.... Colton had his arm over this face the whole time and Ben, well, he just wasn't having it. I guess there going to surprise there mommy & daddy when they're born on what they look like.

The doctor is still planning on me making it to 38 weeks, he told me today to schedule my Remicade infusion for the first week in November, which will be 37 week. (I have to have my infusion the week before the babies are born so I can breast feed, at least try.) At this point I have 6 weeks left. :)

I have finally purchased the babies coming home outfits. I had been putting it off, because I wasn't real sure on what size to buy. I went back and forth on between buying preemies vs. newborns. I finally decided on newborns, since I decided to buy them Paty Gowns. This way know matter how big or small they are, they can still wear them. Here is a picture of the gowns laid out. Of course Jason's first comment was, "Can we please take the blue bows off?" LOL!!! I knew he would say that..... :)

Here is an up close photo of the boys initials on each of the gowns. I think they came out great! I just need to find two little hats and socks for them to wear.

"Benjamin Edward Roberts"

"Colton Allen Roberts"

Here is also a picture of the diaper bag that I was given as a gift. I had it monogrammed with the letter "R". You don't have much of choice when your having two babies with different initials.

I start going to the doctor weekly now, so the count down has begun. The doctor said that we would start rotating weeks on ultrasounds and stress test to watch the babies. At least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
